Boundless Impact was thrilled to facilitate our first conference-wide InnovateUMC team to focus on Lay Servant Ministries, and the launch of the new Certified Lay Minister program. With a mantra of "Open the Door", our diverse team of 15 members met over 6 months to design and implement experiments in how potential lay leaders Discover, Develop and Deploy within the various Lay Servant Ministries pathways of the United Methodist Church. Successful experiments include: update and redesign of website, promotional video (below) in English and Spanish, brochures and Frequently Asked Questions for clarity, on-line and in-person Certified Lay Minister training, and a new database for tracking and deploying lay leaders and eliminating paperwork. Our team also addressed governance, communications and sustainability of Lay Servant Ministries, and many of our recommendations are already being implemented. Our work culminated in presentations at Annual Conference in Lake Junaluska in June 2018 to over 1,500 attendees.
