Continuing the success of other InnovateUMC teams, the Uwharrie District InnovateUMC team is finishing design phase and excited to begin implementing three new ministry experiments. One team is launching a multiethnic Youth Summer Camp for kids aged 10-16, fostered out of the Asheboro UMC network, in partnership with Mt. Shepherd Retreat Center. The project aims to reach a growing and underserved Latino population that otherwise may not receive the opportunity to attend a summer camp experience.

A second team is forming the Richfield Intentional Community Partnership to explore the effects of an intentional living community between Richfield UMC and Pfeiffer University, and with the assistance of The Missional Wisdom Foundation. The initiative will engage young adults through missional outreach in new ways to serve the community while attending college.

Lastly, rounding out the projects is the Each One Reach One initiative. The proposal is built around the idea that males need mentors at all stages of life. The program centers around cross-generational male mentorships, seeking to build relationships and break down barriers between generations and ethnicity. Through the program, participants seek to address challenging issues in our society, such as domestic violence, social injustice, racial divisions, depression, and drug use.

Teams will begin implementation of their projects this month and all three will come to fruition by the end of July 2018. Boundless Impact is pleased to help facilitate the great work that the InnovateUMC teams are doing, while supporting Boundless Impact's mission of being a leader in driving inclusive leadership and innovation in our communities.
